What is a “chaffle”?


“Chaffles” were created by the keto community in order to make a fast and easy bun alternative to high carb breads.

Pretty soon, people caught on to “the chaffle life” and put their own spin on different kinds of chaffles.

And, there’s literally hundreds of combos out there!

How many carbs are in fried pickles?

My favorite fried pickles are from Buffalo Wild Wings.

However, they pack a punch at 63 carbs per order.

And, that’s just way too many carbs if you’re on the keto diet.

How do I make keto fried pickles?

These keto fried pickles are super easy to make.

But, you’ll need to know a few tricks before you begin.

First, you’ll start by getting your mini waffle maker nice and hot.

Next, spray the mini waffle maker with nonstick cooking spray.

Then, you’ll want to add a layer of pepper jack cheese to the bottom part of the waffle maker. Layer with three or four pickles and more shredded pepper jack cheese. Close your waffle maker.

Finally, the most important part! do not open your waffle maker under any circumstances for 2 to 3 minutes. If you do, you’ll risk ruining the cheese. Ideally, you want it hardening to a crispy delicious golden brown.

What ingredients do I need to make a keto fried pickle chaffle?

For this recipe, you only need two ingredients: hamburger dill pickle chips and shredded pepper jack cheese.

Can you make keto pickle chips without breading?

Yes, and I like this recipe even better than the traditional fried pickles with all the extra breading.

With this recipe for fried pickles, the cheese makes it extra crunchy and really brings out the flavor of the pickles.

  • 4 slices hamburger dill pickle chips
  • cup shredded pepper jack cheese

Instructions

  • preheat waffle maker
  • spray with non-stick cooking spray
  • add half of your shredded cheese to the bottom of your waffle maker
  • layer with pickle slices
  • Add the remainder of cheese and close the waffle maker. Do not open for at least 2-3 minutes once cheese hardens.
