What kind of cheese is best for fried cheese?

I used packaged shredded Kroger brand cheese for this recipe. I love the flavor in sharp cheddar, but this recipe will actually work for just about any kind of soft shredded cheese.

*I wouldn’t recommend trying to fry anything but soft cheeses on your stovetop.

What is the best sauce for keto cheese roll-ups?

Dipping my fried cheese roll-ups in jalapeño ranch sauce is delicious, but here are a few other sauce options that are just as scrumptious:

  • Avocado ranch
  • Hummus (low-carb, not keto)
  • Sour cream and onion dip
  • Tomato Sauce or low-carb tomato soup
  • Tuna or chicken salad

How do I make keto bacon cheese roll-ups?

There’s one simple trick for getting the perfect cheese roll-up. Every time.

To Begin, use a non-stick pan and heat on med-high for a few minutes before adding the cheese. There’s no need to spray your pan with cooking spray, since most shredded cheeses will peel right away.

Next, add a thin layer of cheese around the pan and sprinkle bacon bits on top.

Then, continue to fry for about 3-4 minutes, until the edges begin to brown.

Finally, make sure the cheese is golden or darker when you peel it up with your spatula.

Can I freeze keto cheese roll-ups?

I don’t recommend freezing them, but they will keep in an air-tight container for a few days. Even so, these are the perfect keto finger food for when you’re on the go.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your preference)
  • 1 tbsp bacon bits
  • 2 tbsp pickled jalapeños
  • ¼ cup ranch dressing

Instructions

Cheese Roll-ups

  • Heat frying pan on medium high heat for 3-4 minutes
  • Add cheddar cheese scattered thinly around the pan. Add a tsp or two of bacon bits on top.
  • Fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until the edged begin to brown
  • With a flexible spatula, gently peel up a corner of the cheese and roll it up

Jalapeño Ranch Dip

  • Chop jalapeños and add to ranch dressing. Smash jalapeños for more flavor prior to adding.
