Best ingredients for keto chicken salad
- chicken, chopped– you may use chicken breasts or thighs. I like to use leftover rotisserie chicken because it’s perfectly tender.
- bacon, cooked & crumbled– you can use leftover bacon or turkey bacon
- avocados, diced– I typically do this last as avocados brown easily. You may also use pre-made guacamole.
- cheddar cheese, shredded
- scallions, sliced thinly– to keep scallions fresh, place them in a jar of water.
- celery, diced– for adding the perfect crunch
- Caesar dressing – if keto, I recommend a yogurt-based dressing)
- salt– to preference
- ground black pepper– to preference
- optional, bread– If keto, I recommend Sola brand bread or low carb tortillas
Is chicken salad keto?
Traditional chicken salad, made with grapes and other add-ins is higher in carbs. I opted for a thick and hearty chicken salad made with bacon and avocado for this recipe.
